Changed for life - Transformation for a Toe Rag

At the age of 25 Ian Warelow was transformed by the love of God.  From a Toe Rag to the Child of The King of Kings and Lord of Lords.   33 years on he still lives in the Eternal Benefits of Knowing God.

Ian states "Our motivation is very simple but yet profound.  It's the love of God!  The fact that God loves me and has proved it in such a sacrificial way.  How can the Almighty God of the universe love little old me?"

To understand this we have to look at the life and work of Jesus.  Jesus, God Himself, stepping into my world to meet on my turf.  Much more than that He came to reveal the love of God to every man, woman and child that will listen.  God's love is revealed in many ways but the most important is the fact that we are made right with God; declared not guilty of sin.  How can this be?  Jesus died for our sins - He took the punishment for them upon Himself.  He became sin and gave us his righteousness (rightness) before God.  We are made fit for Heaven.  As Jesus said "I go to prepare a place for you".

As if that isn't enough He comes to live in us at our invitation by His Holy Spirit.  He gives us the power of God to say no to sin.  To stand for what is right and to love and serve Him with all our hearts.

How can we fail to love and serve (sacrificially) such a great God.  It's a real pleasure, full of life and purpose just as Jesus promised.

To become a Christian you must:

  • Admit to God that you've sinned against Him. Tell Him that you're really sorry for the things that you've done wrong and that you're going to stop doing them.

  • Believe that when Jesus Christ died on the cross, He took the punishment for your sin.

  • Ask Jesus to come into your life, take away your sin and give you eternal life.

You might find this prayer helpful:

"Lord Jesus Christ I am sorry for the things I have done wrong in my life (take a few moments to ask his forgiveness for anything particular that is on your conscience). Please forgive me. I now turn from everything which I know is wrong. Thank you that you died on the cross for me so that I could be forgiven and set free. Thank you that you offer me forgiveness and the gift of your Spirit. I now receive that gift. Please come into my life by your Holy Spirit to be with me for ever Thank You, Lord Jesus. Amen"
